How study works

Know what to expect before you create an account.

NCTS is designed for flexible online Bible study without making careful reading, theological reflection, or application casual or directionless.

1

Browse first

Browse Bible books and subjects first. Each course page explains what you will study, how the course works, its access type, and any price before you register.

2

Create an account

Your student account gives you a dashboard, progress tracking, achievements, certificates, study records, and a quick route back to your learning.

3

Study and interact

Courses may include teaching units, Scripture study, quizzes, reflection, interactive activities, and a final assessment.

4

Complete and continue

Successful completion records your progress and may issue an achievement or certificate. You can then continue with another Bible book or subject, or follow an optional study pathway.

What appears on your dashboard

Your dashboard brings together current Bible studies, completed courses, progress, assessment results, achievements, certificates, messages, and a route back to your most recent learning.

Optional study pathways

You can study individual courses simply because the subject matters to you. If you later want a more structured sequence, NCTS programmes can group related courses into a coherent study pathway. NCTS points help track learning within those pathways.

For the formal status of NCTS points and study records, see Student information.

Learning through interaction and assessment

Courses can include quizzes, matching, reflection, interactive activities, and final assessments. These are intended to reinforce understanding and encourage careful engagement with the material. Successful completion may also earn an achievement or certificate where enabled.

Cost and access

Courses may be free, paid, or invitation-only. Free and low-cost study is part of the ministry purpose of NCTS. Prospective students should be able to see the access type and price before creating an account.
